Our vision is to build a business rooted in expression, authenticity, and community – a place where thoughtful design, meaningful relationships, and genuine hospitality come together to create spaces where people feel safe, welcome, and truly at home.
Meet Zack
My passion for building began as a kid, spending weekends alongside my dad while he tackled home projects and visited job sites. That curiosity eventually grew into designing and building my first piece of furniture in 2018. From that point on, I knew I had found something that would guide me further in my life endeavors.
Before starting Salted Hearth, I spent more than seven years leading manufacturing strategy & operations in the aerospace industry, where I developed a deep appreciation for precision, quality, and continuous improvement. While renovating our own home in Wilmington, I rediscovered the satisfaction that comes from creating thoughtful, handcrafted spaces that truly improve the way people live.
During this time, it became clear to me that I was being called to build something of my own.
Salted Hearth Design & Build was born from that realization.
What is "Salted Hearth"?
The name Salted Hearth reflects both where we come from and what we value.
“Salted” reflects our Wilmington, North Carolina coastal heritage and the natural elements that inspire our work — timeless, purifying, and grounding.
“Hearth” speaks to the heart of the home: a place of warmth, connection, and daily living. Where families gather and life is lived.
Together, the name represents our belief that beautifully crafted spaces should feel both elevated and deeply personal.
